We begin our work by understanding the physical and cultural context of a place. It is not simply about the materials we use, but about the relationship between the land and the people who inhabit it. Our practice is rooted in the honesty of architectural form and the quiet power of spatial presence.
What We Do

Architecture
New buildings and remodelling, from the first conversation to the construction drawings and the permits.

Spatial Design
Work on a building that already exists. Often this is the smallest intervention with the largest change, and often the cheapest way to get what you want.

Public space and urban design
Streets, shared ground, masterplans. How people who live near each other use what is between them.

Interior Design
The inside of a building. Layout, light, materials, and the furniture. We design rooms that can be rearranged, because how a space is used changes.

Construction
On some projects we hand over the drawings and stay available for questions. On others we supervise the build. On others we deliver the finished space.

Management
Some spaces need looking after once they are finished. We manage buildings and communities we have designed, including at Rancho Sosiego.
